Well, I returned safely from my journey back home to the States. It was a wonderful trip, and I was ready to settle back in to my life and work here.
While life overseas is nothing new to me, there's always one thing I have to be ready for - everything is constantly changing! Flexibility is definitely a necessity in my line of work!
I am in the middle of a job transition, and with this role change, I now have the opportunity to spend the whole summer working on the local language. This will be the first time I have been allowed this much time to devote solely to language so it is a great blessing.
Friday I arrived in a small mountain town that requires hiking anytime you leave your front door. My old city was already at 111F when I left so it is nice to be in a place that doesn't even have fans in the rooms. Another blessing!
It just goes to show that no matter what changes and transitions we're going through, we know that Father is taking care of the details.
There is no internet connection where I am living. My neighbors have a phone
line but it took almost 30 minutes to download 4 messages totaling less than
30KBs. I have now walked into town to try to use the one internet café.
All that to say it may be a week or so before I can post again. But thank you all so much for your prayers - I wouldn't want to do this without your prayer support - it is so vitally important!
